of Allied Health Sciences.
The inaugural period of Caring for
Independent Learning was enacted by one of OT
Departments alumni Mrs. Delcina Bean Burrows (Class of 1989).
Mrs. Burrows established a special endowed account, the Delcina
Bean-Burrows Endowed Fund to kick-off this initiative. She
presented a check to the OT Department in the amount of
$20,000.00, and charged other alumni to give back generously.
Mrs. Burrows
vision is to amplify a point at which all alumni will give
something to support their Alma Mater and to encourage alumni &
friends to build on the foundation this gift represents. The
goal of Caring for Independent Learning is to raise
$100,000.00 annually.
This event
marked an exciting time for Howard University and the OT
Department. Alumni, friends and colleagues, gathered to
celebrate the legacy of the Department and to secure the future
of Howard University Occupational Therapy education. They also
had the pleasure of engaging in an evening of networking, food,
and entertainment.
Since Ms.
Burrows pledge, the OT Department continues to received numerous
