The focus of the Annual
Research Conference is on scientific research that addresses
methodological strategies, instruments, facilitators and barriers to
conducting research on eliminating health disparities among culturally
diverse populations.
A special interest is
for studies that demonstrate effective methods of disseminating findings
to populations at risk.

Conference Objectives
The
objectives for the conference include:
- Describe the effectiveness of interventions for promoting
healthy behaviors among vulnerable populations.
- Identify the contribution of cultural beliefs and practices,
ethnicity, race, economics, and lifestyle to disparities in
health outcomes.
- Identify effective and ineffective research designs used in
scientific investigations with culturally diverse
populations.
- Identify facilitators and barriers to compliant health
behaviors among vulnerable populations.
This
research conference is targeted to nurses, other health and
social service professionals and students, as well as community
advocacy and social service groups serving communities at risk
for health disparities.
