Howard University Division of Nursing is committed to
cultivating the next generation of minority nurse scientists.
We are deeply concerned about the disparities in health among
people of color and vulnerable populations, and realized the
need for an office that would aid in the facilitation and
implementation of the major research activities of the Division
of Nursing. The Office of Nursing Research at Howard
University has grown out of the NIH P-20 Yale-Howard Center to
Reduce Health Disparities by Self and Family Management (5P20
NR008353). The Office of Nursing Research (ONR) is dedicated to
developing and sustaining a rich evolving environment where
ideas are born, science is supported, and future scientists are
attracted and molded into tomorrow’s leaders. To assist in
achieving our goals, we provide
faculty development through training and mentorship to broaden
the base of scholarship, editorial assistance, statistical
consultation, linkages to potential funding opportunities, and
much more! The Office of Nursing Research exists to create a
community of scholars, to engage faculty and students in a
comprehensive, integrated, interdisciplinary, and cross-cultural
approach to conducting nursing research. We believe the faculty
and students in the Division of Nursing, through their continued
scholarship, will be empowered with the knowledge and skills
necessary to develop interventions designed to work as solutions
of human and social health- related problems, as well as,
contribute substantially to the nursing research discipline. |
