Administrative Core
   
 
The Administrative Core coordinates and oversees the administrative functions between Yale and Howard University, reviews and manages funds, including funds for pilots and feasibility studies, research mentoring and any other related activities. The Administrative Core manages the shared resources of the Center and advises the Center Co-Directors .
   
 
Directors
   
 
Dr. Catherine L. Gilliss is Director of the Partnership Center and Director of the Administrative Core at Yale’s School of Nursing. Dr. Gilliss is Dean and Professor at the Yale School of Nursing. Her scientific work has focused on the family and chronic illness, particularly how family shapes the illness experience of its members and vice versa. Most of her scientific work during the last six years has addressed cultural differences impacting health outcomes.

Dr. Dorothy L. Powell is Co-Director of the Partnership Center and Director of the Administrative Core at Howard University Division of Nursing. Dr. Powell is Associate Dean for Nursing and Professor of Nursing in the College of Pharmacy, Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences. Dr. Powell’s career reveals a consistent trajectory in addressing minority health issues and health disparities. Her scientific work is within context of health promotion and disease prevention activities in low income and minority communities.
 
 
Associate Directors
 
Dr. Margaret Grey is Associate Director of the Partnership Center at Yale. Dr. Grey is the Independence Foundation Professor of Nursing and Associate Dean for Research Affairs at the Yale School of Nursing. In addition she is an international leader in advanced practice education and diabetes nursing research.
 
Dr. Sheryl Nichols is Associate Director of the Patnership Center at Howard University’s Division of Nursing. Dr. Nichols, has a Ph.D. in social work and has extensive experience in working with homeless clients, including HU’s Nursing Careers for the Homeless project. She is an expert in working with inner city persons of color and low socio-economic families.
